ROOMS & RATES

Reminiscent of bygone values, innkeepers Bill and Florence Slycord believe that quality and hospitality come before all else. They have filled The CloverLeaf not only with unique furnishings, such as an antique organ, but also novel items — spectacles, games, children's books, phonographs and journals — that invite guests to explore and rejuvenate. To afford every person the opportunity to experience their retreat, they maintain a nightly rate of $69 (cash or check only). Staying at The CloverLeaf feels like visiting Grandma, who has left the porch light on to welcome you home.

The inn's four guest rooms — Katherine, Grace, Gerard and Johanna — are named after members of the Lubbers family. Each features an antique double bed and period pieces found mostly by Mr. Slycord, an antiques auctioneer. The home has two meticulously appointed wash rooms with antique claw-foot tubs and rainfall showerheads. To provide a comfortable yet serene stay, a television and phone are available in the home's common areas but not in the guest rooms.

Every guest is welcomed with a tray of Pella's famous Dutch ring bologna, cheese and crackers. Florence tempts her guests daily with a delicious full breakfast, which may include Dutch Pannekoeken with Honeyed Strawberries or Orange French Toast with sides of fresh fruit, hearty meats, pastries, juice and freshly ground coffee. She also serves an array of tempting Dutch treats, like Almond Cake.
